Take down a Bear-Take home a Trophy

It’s hard to imagine where we stand in Viking-land today…

After the first five games of the season, the Vikings were sitting on top of the NFL world as the only remaining undefeated team left…10 games later and our playoff-and Superbowl hopes have been snuffed out slowly, steadily, and with such precision, one would almost think it was fictional book.

But this is not fiction-this is Minnesota Viking football-at its best (or worst, depending on how you want to phrase it.) And now here we are, week 17 with nothing whatsoever at stake regarding post-seasonal play. This is just a game to get us to .500 nothing more, nothing less.

So, fellow Viking Football Bloggers, as we ring in the New Year, lets raise our glasses and toast the Minnesota Vikings one last time this season and turn our focus toward the upcoming NFL draft! CHEERS! and SKOL VIKINGS!

  1. Forbath FG. ironic that since he got here there has been NO talk at all about FG problems. his distance may be shaky, but his accuracy is a little above average. i would like to see him back next season..

  2. Titus…..’….Re your previous post about turning 50 yrs. old and ‘giving up on the Vikes’…
I sincerely hope that you do not follow the path of so many ‘fans that, as NWV mentioned, give up on their teams. You are turning 50, congrats, a HUGE DAY. I turn 60 in Feb., which means that I was cheering on the Purple while you were entering this world…… I waited, as a Red Sox fan, from the ‘ Impossible Dream ‘ of /67 untill the ‘unimaginable’ World Series victory in 2004, beating the despised Yankees after being down 0-3 in the ALCS.

Remember, this (Nova Scotia and Newfoundland), is the land where the Vikings first landed in North America. I will die a Viking Fan.

  3. SKOL. positive way to end the season with a win, and based on how this season went, it was very cool and nice to see the standing ovation by the fans in the building at the end of the game. offseason will be very interesting ( not gonna go through the situations and scenarios right now, more time for that later). as i say and believe going into every new season, whether it’s fact or blind faith, ”WE WILL BE A FORCE NEXT SEASON”..til later—SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Detroit should thank Washington for not winning their game-their late-game heroics have fizzled out…we would stand a better chance in the playoffs over them.

I still don’t know how the Lions could have swept us (well I do, but, you know what I mean) Green Bay wins the North, I can’t stand it.

  5. My theory is the lackluster participation in this blog this year influenced the downfall of the Vikings season (myself included). We need to ramp it up next season– do our scoring contests, bicker and fight (come on Roger!), anticipate juicy stories and their sequels (Come on Nova!) and enjoy all the ribbing and fun we used to enjoy (Parody, you know I am talkin’ to you!) back during the Chilly and Favre fiascos. I know I am leaving many out but I have not forgotten any of you (You know I am talkin’ to all of you: Northwoods, VegasVike, TampaVike, Viking-ology, dee jay and the list goes on and on and on and on — bonus points if that reminds you of a song that you can recall without asking sir google).

Keep it purple...
