NFL Power Rankings: Week 15

It’s been a couple weeks since the last power ranking was put out, but there hasn’t been much change in that time, as we get closer to the end of the season and most teams are reminding us that they belong where they are.  One exception is the Rams, who after two big shutouts – totaling a 2-game score of 76-0 – have moved up 8 spots.  Unfortunately that means little to them, as they are still stuck at the bottom of the toughest division in the league.

The Lions are the next biggest movers, going up 4 after convincing wins at home against Chicago and Tampa Bay.  They’ll look to continue their surge today against the Vikings in the 3rd of a 5-game stretch against NFC Central opponents.

Meanwhile, the Bengals are the biggest losers over the past two weeks.  While they beat the Buccs, their offense still severely underperformed in that game, and it took an amazing performance by the defense to sustain a one point victory.  The next week the Steelers rolled into town and demolished them pushing their rankings down even further.

  1. And my prediction for today – with the Lions actually performing well late in the season for the first time in history – is that their defense will decimate our depleted offensive line. Somehow the Vikings will push hard enough for 3 field goals, but will lose by a score of:
    20 – 9

    • i’m going through the same thing today. this is the first game i won’t be able to catch this season because it’s been flexed. wish the game was at 1:00 (EST), instead of 4:30 for my own selfish reason. things kinda crazy at the job this month, so have to be there extra early today. let’s pull off the surprise of the day fellas..SKOL VIKES….

  2. “Look at Rodgers arm strength. I think Rodgers has so much zip on the ball that Cobb couldn’t hang onto it”*– GEESH– even when Rodgers looks crappy, the announcers spin it to how great he is. Just goes to show all the bias.
    * Titus nearly verbatim paraphrase

  3. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    The annoucers just put a graphic on Rodgers stats for his first 100 starts and how great he is– and the next play– INTERCEPTION!!! HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. So….with the rules of the point contest still in question, the win goes either to Viking-ology, or to me. Viking-ology piked the Vikings and was off by 6, but mine (off by 9) was the closest score to pick the Lions as the winner.

  5. Asked by Andy Cohen on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live about sex on Packers game days, Olivia Munn ( Aaron Rodgers’ girlfriend ) said it doesn’t happen.

    “No we don’t. Not on game day,” Munn said. “There’s not a rule. It just doesn’t happen because there’s other things to focus on.”

    I believe she meant that is Aaron and Clay’s “special ” time.

  6. Need to fix 2 problems before they get out of hand – Walsh’s accuracy, and Teddy throwing high when he doesn’t need to.

    Walsh’s productivity has dropped steadily since he was drafted – his first year he was 92%, second year 86%, and this year 71% so far. We’ve seen first hand how vital 3 points can be.

    Teddy has been forcing his receivers to jump for the ball more and more, and overthrowing them as well. While a jump ball is a good end-zone strategy with a tall receiver and a short defender, making the reciever leap on a bubble screen screws up the timing.

    We’re definitely headed in the right direction. Fix these two issues, and we’ll add 2-3 more wins in a season.

Keep it purple...
