Power Rankings Heading Into Chicago

Bridgewater's Bears

The bye week has passed and a new set of power rankings are in.  Although the Vikings didn’t play, teams ahead of them on the rankings played poorly enough this week to move the Vikings up one spot to #21.

The Vikings’ next match-up continued their poor performance and have slid down to #29, which pushed their competition up to #7, and solidly atop the division.

Reviewing the teams that the Vikings have played so far this year, all the opponents ahead of them on the rankings are games that they’ve lost (with the closest loss being to the team closest to them on the rankings).  Meanwhile, all the games the team has won have been against teams that are below them on the charts.  This gives a good argument that the Vikings will pull off a win against the Bears today, who are worse than 2 other teams that Minnesota has already defeated.

If the Vikings continue to play at their current level, they should win 4 of their final 7 games, with losses to the Lions (11), Packers (7) and Dolphins (5).  But we all know that Zimmer’s not going to let any team beat him twice in the same year.

  1. Can’t believe I’m saying this, but we’d be better off with Ponder on the field. He can hand off and throw short of the 1st down marker just as good, but at least he can run too. TB isn’t even doing THAT anymore.

  2. And we run a fuckin 4 yard route when we need 6 yards for a first down and our kicker misses the FG. Unreal. This is why earlier in the week I said we can’t overlook these guys… cause if we come out and play like complete shit, anyone can beat us.

  3. Not even Josh’s fault. DC refuses to get him help. What the fuck is he trying to prove?? Josh is having a bad day. He can’t deal with these WRs.. Why he’s not getting help is giving me a headache..

  4. As for myself as much as I may critcize Teddy during these games with his overthrows and slow decision making, I have to keep in mind that he is a rookie. But there are some plays that even a rookie has to make. This was just bad all the way around. D-line, no sacks, poor tackling. The only person who stood out obviously was Rhodes, only because Cutler picked on Josh all game…

  5. Attention fellow FF league members, the Packers defense scored 30 points this week and is a FA.
I know it likely will not keep up next week, but with the way their offense is playing other teams are going to make a lot of risky decisions as they try to keep up.

  6. These rankings generally are way off– Broncos first and Rams 30th? Yet Rams clobbered the Broncos. Arizona listed as number 9 yet have the best record in the whole NFL at 9-1? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Keep it purple...
